What can you access when the moment asks more of you?
Most of us already know a great deal about how we are supposed to lead, work and live.
Listen. Stay curious. See the bigger picture. Make thoughtful decisions. Remain open when things become difficult.
The challenge isn't always knowing what to do.
It's being able to access that way of being when the moment makes it difficult.
Under pressure, our world can narrow. But pressure isn't the only thing that asks more of us.
Change does.
Growth does.
Greater responsibility does.
Possibility does.
Denise Balyoz speaks about the human capacity beneath how we lead, relate and create — and what becomes possible when we have greater access to ourselves in the moments that matter.
Most leadership talks focus on what people do.
Or how to drive performance.
Mine explore what you can access when the moment asks more of you — and what becomes possible when you have greater access to yourself.
A Different Kind of Conversation
I don't speak only to give people more to know.
I create conversations in which people can encounter something for themselves.
There may be story. Inquiry. Reflection. Conversation. A simple practice or experiment. Sometimes, an encounter with the living world.
Rather than giving an audience another model for how they should live, lead or respond, I invite them to notice what changes their access — to perspective, choice, creativity, relationship and possibility.
The room becomes part of the inquiry.
What are we noticing?
What happens when pressure rises?
What becomes harder to access?
What changes when there is more space?
What becomes possible between us?
The intention isn't simply to understand something differently.
It is to experience it.
What comes alive can then be taken back into the actual circumstances of life and work.

SIGNATURE CONVERSATION
What happens to what we can see, access and create when pressure changes the place from which we meet the world?
For years, I worked with people navigating pressure, responsibility, change and possibility.
And I knew that world myself.
An unexpected relationship with a community of ancient oaks began to reveal something that leadership models had not.
Our capacity to meet life does not depend only on what we know. It depends on what remains available to us when the moment asks more of us.
ROOTED brings these two worlds together.
Through story, inquiry and lived experience, I explore what ancient oaks can reveal about pressure, presence, relationship and our capacity to remain open when life asks more of us.
This isn't a talk about escaping pressure.
It's an invitation to discover what becomes possible when we can meet it without losing access to ourselves.
What These Conversations Can Open
People don't leave ROOTED with another leadership to remember.
They may leave noticing more.
More aware of what happens to them under pressure.
More able to recognise when their world is narrowing.
More curious about what changes when there is space.
More connected to themselves, to one another and to the living systems of which they are part.
And with something they have experienced for themselves — not simply something they have been told.

About Denise
Denise Balyoz is a speaker, mentor and founder of Open Leadership.
Her work sits at the intersection of leadership, human experience and the wisdom of living systems — three worlds that have shaped her understanding of what it means to live and lead well.
For more than two decades, Denise worked at Director level in global organisations, specialising in alliances and business development. She knows the realities of responsibility, growth, change, complexity and pressure from the inside.
For the past decade, her work has moved closer to the human experience itself — through thousands of hours of coaching, leadership development and embodied practice with people navigating responsibility, transition, pressure and possibility.
In recent years, another dimension has entered the work: an ongoing inquiry through her relationship with the ancient oaks of Windsor Great Park and the living world of which we are part.
